The
Fellowship of Prayer
O God, the strength of the weak and the comfort of sufferers:
Mercifully
accept our prayers, and grant to your servants the help of your power,
that their sickness may be turned into health, and our sorrow into joy;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen - Book of Common Prayer
(ad.)
Hear our prayers, Lord, according to Your boundless
mercy:
- Let there be peace, with justice, for all the peoples of the
earth.
- Grant us courage to seek Your path and follow it.
- Make us instruments of Your peace.
And bless our Church Family, extended family, and friends, who stand or
continue in need of prayer:
Please Pray
For:
Peace
with justice, for all
peoples of the
world; and for our world's leaders, a spirit of wisdom and
reconciliation.

Pray
Without Ceasing…
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and
supplication
with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
-Philippines
4:6
Hear our prayers, Lord, according to your boundless
mercy:
- Let there be peace, with justice, for all the
peoples of the earth.
- Let the peoples and leaders of all nations show
forth wisdom, humility,
and reconciling spirits.
- Grant us a heart for the left-out and the
lonely.
- Grant us courage to seek your path and follow
it.
- Show us, moment by moment, day by day, how to be
instruments of your
peace.

Something
to Ponder
A Positive Thought
If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.
If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it.
He sends you flowers every spring, and a sunrise every morning.
Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen.
He could live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart.
What about the Christmas gift He sent you in Bethlehem; not to mention
that Friday at Calvary.
Face it, He's crazy about you.

of Kate by Jan Hamilton? Beloved Kate Hudson was a weekly

Mary Magdalene went and said to the
disciples,
"I have seen the Lord"; and she told them that he said these things to
her. John 20:18
That first Easter no one went to the cemetery
in faith. In fact, surprise, fear, and unbelief began the event
without
which "your faith is futile and you are still in your sins" (1 Cor.
15-17).
No one actually saw the resurrection.
The removal of the stone and the empty tomb seemed to be simply
curious,
unpleasant facts. Mary Magdalene, who arrived first, was only
saddened,
believing that someone had removed the body of Jesus.
The real power of the resurrection flows from
the encounter of each witness with the living Lord. Mary, for
instance,
went to the tomb to mourn her lost hope. Instead, she experienced
the presence of the risen Christ, and mourning was broken by joy.
She shared her experience with others who
were unbelieving and distraught. It had begun with her hearing
the
Lord say "Mary" in a place of death.
The pattern continues to give life to and
through the church. There is no proof - only the powerful
witness
of believers whose faith comes, for many of us, from hearing a living
Word.
Meet us in your Word, Lord Jesus, that
hearing you, our witness may have power to convince. Amen

Alexander Campbell received an
invitation
from both Houses of Congress to deliver an address to them in the
Capitol
at Washington. The room was full to overflowing. After a
hymn
and prayer, he addressed the assembly from John 3:17, "exhibiting the
divine
philanthropy in contrast with patriotism and human friendship,
reasoning
in a grand and masterful manner from creation, providence, divine
legislation
and human redemption, and holding the audience in the most fixed
attention
during the time of the address, which occupies an hour and a half."
